Game of Stones
“Another one of my personal favourites, even if I do say so” says James. “A real challenge from a goldsmith’s point of view.” This ring, nicknamed “Game of Stones”, was designed and made by James Baldwin, in house at Baldwin Jewellery. Made in 18ct Yellow, White and Rose gold and set with diamonds, this piece was highly technical as the three colours had to be cast separately and put together like a jigsaw puzzle. Incredible accuracy was required. This is the beauty of the CAD/CAM software.
“The pictures illustrate the process from CAD design through to the finished piece. The beautiful rings were designed as a wedding and engagement set. An opportunity to design and create something more organic, and a great concept. The two rings fit together perfectly and give the appearance of one ring. The beauty of CAD/CAM is the ability to create pieces such as this with perfect precision and accuracy.
